Each year we welcome Elected Officials and those involved in Local Government to attend this 2½ day conference. This event includes a tradeshow along with keynote speakers, panels and presentations, a gala dinner and our annual AGM and resolutions session.
This years’ conference theme is Social, Natural and Financial Assets: Accounting for the Unaccounted.
The conference is your best opportunity to make connections across the region and ensure that what matters most to you finds its way into policy so that the communities and regions of the Lower Mainland of British Columbia continue to thrive.
Early Bird (before March 31st): $400 plus GST and $75 for Annual Banquet
After March 31st: $500 plus GST and $85 for Annual Banquet
Non-Members: $700 plus GST and $85 for Banquet
Spouse Meal Package: $200 plus GST (banquet tickets sold separately)
The Lower Mainland Local Government Association appreciate that members often travel in their role as an elected official, resulting in time away from loved ones. In an effort to facilitate joint travel, we continue to subsidize a spouse meal package. This includes 4 coffee breaks, 2 receptions, 2 lunches and 2 breakfasts. Banquet tickets are sold separately at above listed member pricing.
Sponsor/Exhibitor Additional Registration Package: $275 plus GST (banquet tickets sold separately)
Cancellations received in writing on or before Friday, April 24th will incur a $50 administration fee. All cancellations after that date will not receive a refund.
Hotel rooms at the Delta Whistler Village Suites can be booked at a discounted convention rate:
- $159 for a standard guest room
- $185 for a one-bedroom suite
Important: Please note that the first night room and taxes are non-refundable and due at the time of booking. The remainder of the room and tax is processed at the time of check-in.
The group rate is available May 5 – May 7, 2020, based on availability at the time of booking.
Conference Start & End Times
Wednesday, May 6, 2020
- Pre-conference session begins at 2:00 pm. Pre-Conference Housing tour begins at 3:00 pm
- The official opening begins at 7:00 pm.
Friday, May 8, 2020
- The conference ends at approximately 2:30 pm
Most attendees arrive in Whistler on Wednesday afternoon and depart the Friday afternoon following the conference.
Sponsorship & Trade Show Participation
The Lower Mainland LGA is pleased to present the Sponsorship Opportunities for the 2020 Conference. Below you will find a link to the sponsorship package. Returning sponsors will be given until January 10, 2020, to secure the same sponsorship as last year.
Allocation of tradeshow booth spaces will first be provided to returning sponsors followed by returning exhibitors. New sponsors are welcome to the remaining trade show spaces on a first-come, first-served basis after January 10th, 2020.
The Lower Mainland LGA offers four youth from the Harrison Hot Springs, Pemberton, Whistler and Squamish areas an opportunity to apply for and secure a scholarship to attend the Annual Conference in May of each year. UBCM also offers a scholarship to three youth from the Lower Mainland LGA area to attend UBCM.
